Raleigh, North Carolina Jan 30, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - After first responders Nicholas Reyna, a Lubbock, Texas police officer, and Fire Lieutenant Eric Hill were fatally struck by oncoming traffic while responding to a crash on an icy roadway in Lubbock on January 11, American lifestyle brand Shield Republic decided to step in to raise funds for the families of the fallen officers.
In late January, the company’s charitable foundation presented the Lubbock Professional Police Association with a check for $7,624.65 to be distributed to the families of Officer Reyna and Lieutenant Hill.
The funds were raised through the sale of special apparel including unisex t-shirts, hoodies, long-sleeved shirts, and ladies’ tank tops. All items sold through the fundraiser were designed, printed, and shipped in the USA, with 100 percent of net profits donated to Reyna’s and Hill’s families via the Lubbock Professional Police Association.
