Hook, Hampshire Dec 6, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - MYLBROOK LTD is donating a MAXUS e DELIVER 9 to Basingstoke Food Bank, located in Tempus Business Centre, Basingstoke from 7th to 23rd December.
The all-electric van will assist the food bank in being able to make deliveries to those in need for Christmas in the Basingstoke and surrounding area, in the most sustainable way possible. This is all part of MAXUS’ national Christmas foodbank appeal, which sees its dealers from across the UK aiding local food banks in a bid to help people in need, particularly in the face of rising inflation and the cost-of-living crisis.
A recent survey1 found that 93% of food banks in the UK have reported an increase or significant increase in the need for their services since the start of 2022 and 80% have struggled with food supply issues.
Over 30 participating MAXUS dealerships, across the length and breadth of the country will be taking part in the MAXUS Food Appeal. MAXUS is supporting the campaign by providing 32 specially liveried e DELIVER 9 electric vans to participating dealerships. The zero-emission vans will deliver food donations in the lead-up to Christmas. The MAXUS Food Appeal will run for two weeks, from the 5th-18th of December.
Mark Barrett, General Manager of Harris MAXUS said: “Foodbanks provide emergency food and support to families and individuals who find themselves in financial crisis. They rely heavily upon donations, particularly during the festive period. This year, the number of people depending on their local food bank has increased dramatically due to the rising cost of living. In response, we are calling on residents, customers, and neighbouring businesses to donate to their local food bank this December as part of the MAXUS Food Appeal. Together we can make a difference - all donations are welcome however big or small.”

Those who wish to donate to their local food banks are asked to supply long-life non-perishable food items, such as pasta, rice, noodles, tinned fruit and veg, jars of sauce, jams, powdered soup, cereals, lentils, beans, pulses, tea, coffee, and tinned meat. Christmas biscuit tins, puddings, and children’s selection boxes will also be accepted, as well as non-food items such as toiletries and hygiene products.
