Wish You Were Brooklyn by Jonathan Hay

The reimagined versions of "Rise" and "Touch, Peel and Stand" are available

Manhattan, New York Jun 13, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - In late 2019, Jonathan Hay, Benny Reid and Mike Smith teamed up with hip-hop icons Eric B. & Rakim, on the #1 Billboard album, Follow The Leader (Reimagined as Jazz). With a co-sign from all-time great Rakim, Jonathan Hay was galvanized that he could achieve another chart-topper. Enter "Wish You Were Brooklyn" - the forthcoming 17-track LP that will be gunning for another Billboard accolade. Classic songs from four different decades were reimagined for this July 28th release, that's being distributed by Ingrooves (part of Virgin Music Group), the global independent music division of Universal Music Group. The album will be available in Dolby Atmos and Mercedes-Benz through Apple Music's strategic partnership with Universal.

The award-winning publication, Worcester Magazine premiered "Rise (Reimagined)", a reinterpretation of Herb Alpert's classic song that's a contemporary fusion of jazz and electronic music. Renowned journalist Victor D. Infante writes, "The effect on "Rise" is palpable, from the mournful trumpet sound being played over a bass-heavy dance beat to the introduction of lovely live piano playing from Hay. For a while, the Alpert original vanishes entirely into the din as the music goes off in a different direction, but when it reasserts itself near the end, the effect is absolutely magical."

The Toilet Ov Hell, a hip, underground publication premiered "Touch, Peel and Stand (Reimagined)", Hay's genre flip of Days of the New's monster hit single from 1997, that Billboard Magazine recently named "the greatest mainstream rock song of all-time". Early signs seem to point that "Wish You Were Brooklyn" will be another successful album from the creative team of Jonathan Hay.
