Albany, New York Mar 12, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Boston comedian Sarah Martin takes a sassy twist on her daily life. Believing in the power of laughter she will be traveling to Albany, NY to headline the Funny Bone in collaboration with Night Out For You, for their second annual fundraiser.
We’ve all heard that laughter is the best medicine with numerous physical and mental health benefits. This applies to anyone. To quote Martin “One of the best feelings in the world is sharing a laugh, and forget about all the bull#**! going on in the world.” This is why for the second year in a row, The Funny Bone has decided to host a fundraiser for Night Out For You Inc.
The non-profit organization’s mission is creating an experience for an adult undergoing cancer treatment, allowing them to remember who they are by forgetting their diagnosis for a few hours. The experiences they create can be any excursion you can think of to take your mind off cancer treatment; learning how to ride a horse or flying free through the air on a bungee cord or even in a balloon. Anything that will help you, feel like you, feel joy, and experience life.
Most recipients are based in the immediate capital region, although Night Out For You has also completed experiences for individuals located in other parts of New York State. Each experience is based upon the recipient’s specific request, and typically includes transportation, dining, event admissions, and other special touches for the recipient to remember the joy and hope from their Night Out.
There are a comedy show and raffles to be held throughout the event. It is a comedy with a good cause as 75% of the proceeds will go towards Night Out For You.
