Atlanta, Georgia May 11, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Amazon Studios revealed the release date late Tuesday when officially announcing it has closed a deal with Universal Television acquiring worldwide rights to the sketch comedy, which sees the stardom of Jay Walker. The long-awaited TV Program It originally had been set to hit the big screen in May.
Amazon Studios, led by Jennifer Salke, is aiming to move into traditional tentpole territory via such series as Walker Show.
Amazon and Universal haven’t commented on the terms of the deal, but sources say the purchase price for the series was in the $25 million range. The announcement comes months after Walker Reportedly received a Mega Payday from Amazon Studios to join as a Content Developer.
