Houston, Texas Dec 4, 2025 (Issuewire.com)  - Manvel, Texas – Wadie Williams, Jr., MS, RRT, TTS, MEMS(S), FAARC, COL(Tx,R), a highly accomplished respiratory care professional, military officer, and medical-legal consultant, announces his retirement after nearly five decades of dedicated service in the field of respiratory care. Until February 1, 2025, Colonel Williams served as the RC Coordinator of the Respiratory Care Department at Houston Methodist Hospital – Texas Medical Center, where he played a vital role in advancing clinical excellence and operational efficiency within one of the nation’s leading healthcare institutions.

Reflecting on his career, Colonel Williams stated, “What I’ve enjoyed most about practicing medicine is the opportunity to serve patients at Houston Methodist Hospital for the past 19 years. Being part of such a respected institution has allowed me to collaborate with exceptional colleagues, deliver compassionate, high-quality care, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we treat every day.” His commitment to patient care extended beyond the hospital setting, as he and fellow members of the Texas State Guard (TXSG) provided critical support during disasters and emergencies throughout the state, demonstrating his dedication to serving the community during its most challenging times.

In addition to his distinguished civilian career, Colonel Williams honorably served in the Texas State Guard, Texas Military Forces, where he held multiple key leadership positions. His roles included Executive Officer and Commander of the Galveston Medical Response Group, as well as Component Generals’ Staff Officer (Operations Deputy) as well and a Staff Officer (Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator) in the TXSG State Surgeon’s Office. An honor graduate of the Texas Military Academy’s Command and General Staff College, he rose to the rank of Colonel and earned recognition for his exceptional contributions to disaster management, medical readiness, and Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA).  He and his fellow officers and enlisted leaders of the AARC’s Military Community are continuing work to attract more individuals to the field of Respiratory Care and possible co-careers as Military Respiratory Therapists serving in either Federal Military Branches or State Military Departments.   They provide guidance on using their knowledge, skills, abilities, and leadership and commitment skills to care for patients and improve the quality of outcomes and lives of the people in their communities, or when called upon they serve in various capacities.

A Senior Military Emergency Management Specialist, Colonel Williams brought hands-on leadership to state-level emergency operations, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to public service and mission readiness. He further advanced the organization by serving as an instructor for the Texas Military Academy’s Officer Basic and Officer Advanced Programs and is actively contributing to the development of a mentorship program for enlisted and officer members of the TXSG, 2nd Brigade.

Beyond his military and hospital leadership roles, Colonel Williams is the owner and principal of a well-established medical-legal consulting firm that specializes in legal cases involving respiratory care, anesthesia technology, healthcare informatics, and respiratory/pulmonary research projects. His academic credentials include a Master of Science in Clinical Practice Management from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. His professional achievements are highlighted by his Fellowship in the American Association for Respiratory Care (FAARC) and both the Texas Lone Star Distinguished Service and Outstanding Service Medals awarded in 2022 by the Texas State Guard, Texas Military Department.

Colonel Williams has also made contributions to the field through keynote speaking engagements, panel discussions, and numerous publications, including contributions to several books and articles. Known for his discipline, intellect, and dedication to mentorship, he embodies the values of integrity, excellence, and lifelong service—qualities that continue to positively influence the medical and military communities he has faithfully served.
