The game launches directly inside a modern desktop or mobile browser, allowing players to begin without downloading software or creating an account.
Players pilot a vessel through procedurally generated space while weapons automatically target waves of hostile blooms. Defeated enemies release experience shards, and each level presents a choice of weapons, weapon improvements or passive systems. Different combinations allow every run to develop differently.
One of Voidbloom’s defining technical features is its audio system. The game uses the Web Audio API to synthesize its complete soundtrack and sound effects while it is running. No conventional music tracks or sound-effect recordings are downloaded.
The challenge escalates throughout each run. Bosses arrive at three-minute intervals, with the final Voidmother encounter appearing at 12 minutes. Successful players then enter an endlessly scaling mode in which enemies and returning bosses continue to become stronger.
Five sectors rotate daily, changing the game’s visuals, music, obstacles and environmental conditions. These include solar flares, gravity wells, altered experience rewards and ice-based movement physics.
Optional pilot accounts provide cloud saves, permanent progression, global rankings, daily rankings, friends and referrals. Completed runs receive unique RUN CODEs that can be entered into the game to confirm the recorded result.
