Kansas City, Missouri Jul 24, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - As part of an ongoing relationship with the 18th and Vine Redevelopment Corporation, Village Green Global (“VGG”) is pleased to accept the invitation to participate in the EVE project as the vertical development partner.
Background
EVE is the brainchild of Vewiser Dixon a successful Kansas City Entrepreneur. EVE has grown from an idea 5 years ago to support the local community through inclusiveness using sustainability as a platform, into a job-creating education hub that will be globally recognized.
EVE Vision
EVE will educate adult students in STEAM topics that focus on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. EVE will be a catalyst in urban unity, ethnic inclusiveness, and cultural variety by generating new global jobs, career pathways for minority students, and empowering every student to grow, challenge and prosper locally and beyond. EVE will be a community asset to inspire personal happiness, economic prosperity, and environmental impact awareness. EVE will itself be a “SMART” City with the world's best practices in design, construction, connectivity, and energy generation to live, work and play in, which will act as a beacon to future developments globally.
Partners
The Master Developer for the project is UA KC EVE, LLC., and will be using land that has been acquired between 22nd to 24th Street, Vine Street to Woodland as the site for EVE. The Architect for EVE will be BNIM, a local and respected member of the region whose global practice is headquartered in Kansas City. “BNIM is honored to be connected with EVE and each of its partners in designing and creating an urban campus with buildings that demonstrate sustainability for human and natural communities at its highest levels. We imagine that this will be a laboratory for thinking globally and acting locally while serving a very important community of Kansas City”. BNIM Principal, Laura Lesniewski stated.
Community Opportunity
Doug Smith, Founder and CEO of VGG explained, “EVE aims is to bring the community together through education, community inclusiveness, and one voice to drive economic fulfillment to the region. EVE will be a hub for leading educational institutions to have field offices, laboratories, research units and host on-premise learning experiences. In turn, expanding on their sustainable practices and to collaborate with all local community organizations to promote the region as a center for finding skilled talent locally, to work globally. Next Steps for EVE
EVE is currently in predevelopment stages of financials, land entitlements, design, urban planning, permitting, and construction. The project will be paid for from a debt and equity program consisting of a construction and operational budget, circa $300M. Debt, if used, will be issued through private equity and prime banks both locally and internationally. Construction is set to commence mid 2021, subject to entitlement and permitting requirements.
