Mumbai, Maharashtra Feb 11, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - A Rural Manifesto, a voluminous, well-researched book, authored by Varun Gandhi was launched in a packed gathering at the Mumbai University. Doing the honors was Dr. R. D. Kulkarni- Pro Vice chancellor, Mumbai University, Dr. R Gopal, Director and Head of the Department, D Y Patil School of Business Management, Dr. Smita Shukhla - Director, Alkesh Dinesh Modi Institute for Financial & Management Studies and the author himself. This event was an initiative byAjeenkya D.Y. Patil University School of Management and the University of Mumbai.

Dr. R Gopal, Director, and Head of the Department, D Y Patil School of Business Management, delivered the welcome address and emphasized the need to ensure smooth and speedy implementation of policies and vision statements. Varun Gandhi was truly in his elements and raised some very pertinent questions when he observed that while working professionals across industries have to earn their raise in salary, Members of Parliament merely have to raise their hands to give themselves a hike in salary. He drew the attention of the audience to the fact that the election commission of a small country like Sweden with a population of a mere seven million people had twice the budget of the election Commission of India.

Varun Gandhi had the audience in splits when he stated that the Delhi Parliament library is probably the loneliest place in the world, since during his innumerable visits to the library he never met a single soul there, with the singular exception of the librarian. Gender Justice and equality he opined would be mere symbolism and sloganeering until it penetrated deep into the heart of rural India.  He further observed that eight of the fifteen most polluted cities in the world are in India attributed the same parts to the use of outdated technology in various industries like the power sector.
