UN Special Representative and BSF Founder Announce Global Partnership on Curbing Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones

Bibliothèques Sans Frontières and Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Announce Global Partnership to Combat Conflict-Related Sexual Violence

Paris, France Oct 16, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - Pramila Patten, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, and Patrick Weil, President and Founder of the NGO Bibliothèques Sans Frontières (BSF), today announced a breakthrough global partnership, deploying modern technologies in support of survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, their families, and their communities.

Through a Framework of Cooperation, the partnership will focus on Bibliothèques Sans Frontières’ innovative Ideas Box. a transformational mobile multimedia center that can serve as a safe space for creativity, innovation, and healing. The Ideas Box, when properly equipped, has the potential to provide a wide range of support services encompassing holistic care for survivors and communities ranging from mental health services and psychosocial support to legal support, educational activities, and vocational training.
