Tribd provides solo adventure travellers and active sports pursuers suggestions of suitable travel partners, with the compatibility score between them, helping to find the right person for their next adventure.
Tribd was founded by Irena Miroforidu, a solo adventure traveller with passion for surfing and her brother Janusz Miroforidis, with a Ph.D. degree in computer science, who is the brain behind Tribd unique algorithm.

Irena created Tribd in response to a common problem she and millions of other solo travellers have: finding a travel partner with similar plans. Often herself struggling to find someone to share a surf trip or a solo adventure to a faraway destination, with difficulties coordinating between group of friends, and because no one from her closest circle shared her passion for surfing.
By 2020 there will be 148 million people travelling solo and Tribd was founded with the aim to help those looking for a travel companion, to find the right person to share the adventure with, by instantly showing other compatible travellers. Tribd also helps active sports pursuers and outdoors enthusiasts such as surfing, scuba diving, climbing or other active sports to find a trip buddy.
The idea behind Tribd is simple. Users create their profile with Facebook, set up their travel preferences: activity type, destination, dates of travel and an age range of potential travel partner, and Tribd will do the rest searching for suitable partners amongst active users. Travellers can swipe through profiles to accept or reject the suggestion. If both Users have accepted each other, a connection is created. Users can chat and plan their trip or agree to meet at the next destination.
Even though, the user interface is simple, the algorithm finding profiles, scoring and displaying compatibility between suitable travel partners is unique to Tribd. Travellers will only see a partner suggestion with fair, good or excellent compatibility, based on selected travel preferences. The swipe and match functionality, following widely adopted dating Apps model, prevents from unsolicited contact, which is important especially for solo female travellers. The App that is simple to use, at the same time sophisticated, taking into consideration unique preferences of each user.
