Tribal Casinos Tackle Impact of Covid on Entertainment Offerings

Celebrity Casino Guru Moderates All Star Entertainment Panel

Anaheim, California Apr 13, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - Celebrity casino developer, television personality, and author Gary Green will moderate an all-star panel of entertainment industry professionals at the National Indian Gaming Association Conference and Trade Show in Anaheim on Wednesday, April 20 at 11:00 am.

“The Song Remains The Same: The State of the Entertainment Industry” will be an examination of the drastic changes in casino entertainment driven by the Covid pandemic.

“Showrooms and entertainment are a crucial part of the brand and reputation of many of the 500+ Tribally-owned casinos across the country, and the pandemic wrought havoc not just from the disease but to the entire structure of performers’ availability,” Green explained.

The panel will be addressing the new problems that have left huge voids in available talent to perform at the casinos. Many high-drawing artists have retired; production companies have lost personnel; drivers for tour buses have disappeared; national agencies have let agents go and a lot of those agents have moved on to boutique agencies or gotten out of the business.

Green and the panel of experts will share their stories and answer questions about the state of casino entertainment offerings in 2022 – 2023.

Gary Green, who before his casino career as a well-known folksinger whose legendary 1970’s era record albums are now part of the Smithsonian Collection, will moderate the panel made up of: Kell Houston, President of Houston Productions and one of the most active casino entertainment buyers and consultants; Billy Brill, CEO of Billy Alan Productions, a prolific and highly-respected entertainment booker; and two casino executives extremely active in booking entertainers, Monica Reeves who is the Senior Director of Entertainment and Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage California and Jeff Jantz who is the Executive Director of Marketing for the Rolling Hills Casino in Corning California.

“Beyond just the panel imparting knowledge and expertise, we plan to generate a lively discussion among Tribal leaders and casino executives from across the country,” Green added.

Entering its 35th year, the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention has established itself not only as of the premier event for the Indian Gaming industry but as the figurative heartbeat of Native American success. The conference is the largest gathering of tribal leaders and casino executives in the country and serves as both a meeting place where the Tribal community gathers to learn,  network, and exchange industry-specific ideas and a cultural celebration of success, strength, and self-reliance.
