Idaho Falls, Idaho Feb 7, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Truck Driver, Robbie Howell, could have safely driven to the moon and back 10 times now. Or at least, that’s the equivalent of how far he’s safely traveled in his 32‐year career with Doug Andrus Distributing. Five million miles and counting. Robbie is the first driver in the company’s history—and one of the few on the planet—to reach that mark. But despite his major accomplishment, he’s a very grounded, down‐to‐earth guy.
Robbie is married with 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren and lives in Shelley Idaho. If asked about this achievement Robbie would say he hasn’t done much, that he just does his job. Robbie is only 56 years old and he has no plans to stop now.
"This is the first time we've ever ordered a truck for a 5 million mile driver," said Jon Andrus Vice President of Fleet Management. Doug Andrus drivers are able to order and customize a new tractor when they reach a million safe miles. Robbie is well versed in the process and the company looks forward to delivering him his 5 million mile truck.
Robbie’s achievement is one that few drivers will ever achieve globally, and the company honors him and his commitment to his profession.

Robbie sits at the very top of Doug Andrus’ million-mile group of drivers but he has plenty of company. Doug Andrus has 70 drivers that have driven 1 million or more safe miles. In order to qualify, the miles recorded have to be accident-free safe miles driven in a Doug Andrus Distributing truck. With a fleet of just 265 tractors, this is an incredible achievement as well and speaks volumes of Doug Andrus’ commitment to drivers and their families.
