Hamburg, Germany Sep 17, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - The Balaclava series from the award-winning writer Campbell Jefferys goes inside the protest scene like no other book ever has while also taking a dystopian view of the potential impacts of climate change and extremist politicians. As the youth in Germany rise against an oppressive society, they throw their support behind the charismatic young politician Vilem Kollar, leader of the new Modra party. The story is told from the perspective of Mara Steinbach, ex-police, undercover in the protest scene for personal and political reasons.

The author of nine novels and a non-fiction collection of travel stories, Campbell Jefferys has twice won the Fiction category of the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. One of his short stories, Mikelis, was made into a short film starring James Cosmo. His first screenplay, Fadeaway, is currently in pre-production in Hamburg.
