Melbourne, Victoria Nov 11, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Holding Steadfast Productions, in association with Hostile Bacon, are proud to present The Web of Truth; an audio fiction podcast mini-series, available to stream now.
The story is from an old film script that Writer / Producer Matt Caton had written almost 18 years ago, but changing the universe over to an audio one, allowed Caton to finally get the story told:
“I treated this project like a film, from the very start. The pace, the style of acting, the full audio production and music in the background, we really wanted this to feel like a film for your ears.”
The story is a semi-historical account of a boy's trip that Caton went on for a friend’s 21st birthday and follows the trail of debauchery that leads to an inciting incident that really has to be heard, to be believed. Drawing inspiration from the stoner films of the 1990s and early 2000s, The Web of Truth pays plenty of homage to films such as Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Human Traffic, Road Trip, Old School and Go, as well as throwing in some very localised Australian pop-culture references.
Accompanying the story is a rocking soundtrack, an end result that Caton is very proud of:
“I originally wanted to use licensed music for this, but unless you want to make your podcast exclusive to a particular platform, there is no real license available for using music in podcasting. Luckily, I had a strong network of independent and local bands, who all generously offered their music to use, and it was once we started slotting these songs in that the end result really started to take shape.”
The Web of Truth is a three-part mini-series available to stream now on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher and where all good podcasts are streamed. More details and download links available at holdingsteadfast.com
