London, England Jun 14, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - The Refuge is the story of a women’s aid centre where we find four girls living in an isolated fortress gatehouse run by Mrs Kane. The film is a protest to the current crisis in Britain that these institutions are facing due government’s cuts. It shows how women are being marginalized instead of being included into society.

About the short film stars, the French actress Lujza Richter Hugo, known for her role as Princess Mona Braganza in the last Daniel Day- Lewis' film: Phantom Tread, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The second lead is an International actress and model: Demi Hannah Scott known by her constant work at ShowStudio with Nick Knife, her worldwide campaigns for Uniqlo, Fenty Puma are amongst others.
The film is directed and produced by Maria Millan and with an all-female cast she aims to call attention in gender disparity in the filmmaking industry.
