Bengaluru, Karnataka Jun 6, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - The Music School Bangalore (TMSB) has launched the TMSB Open Stage — a monthly live music platform held every second Saturday at TMSB's campus on Langford Road, Shanthinagar — giving Bangalore's independent artists a permanent, professional, and entirely free performance space to share their original music with a live audience.
The platform held its inaugural edition on 25th April 2026, followed by its second edition on 16th May 2026. From June 2026 onwards it takes place on the second Saturday of every month.
What the TMSB Open Stage Is
The TMSB Open Stage is open to any musician, singer, songwriter, band, or producer from across Bangalore who has original music to share. There are no auditions, no application fees, no genre restrictions, and no barriers to entry. Audience attendance is free and open to the public.
Performances take place on The TMSB Stage — a fully equipped professional live performance space with enhanced acoustics, a professional audio system, expanded floor space, and professional stage lighting, inaugurated in August 2024 and significantly upgraded in December 2025.
The platform was conceived in response to a gap that TMSB has consistently observed in Bangalore's music ecosystem — a city rich in musical talent but historically short on regular, reliable, professional platforms where independent artists can connect with audiences and build a live performance practice.
The Vision Behind It
Milton Lance, Founder and Director of The Music School Bangalore, said the TMSB Open Stage reflects a belief that has been central to TMSB's philosophy since its founding in 2008.

Early Response
The first two editions of the TMSB Open Stage drew a growing community of performers and audiences from across the city — with artists performing original compositions for the first time in front of a live audience, musicians who had never previously met discovering creative connections, and a room brought together entirely by a shared love of original music.
The third edition takes place on the second Saturday of June 2026.
Part of a Broader Performance Culture
The TMSB Open Stage is the latest expression of a performance culture that TMSB has been building deliberately over the past two years.
Friday Live Drive — TMSB's weekly live performance platform held every Friday on The TMSB Stage — gives TMSB's own students structured stage experience as a core part of their music education. Since its launch the platform has hosted hundreds of student performances and established itself as one of the most anticipated weekly events at the institution.
The TMSB Open Stage extends that same commitment beyond TMSB's student community — opening the stage to Bangalore's wider music ecosystem.
