Huntington Beach, California Aug 6, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - August 2, 2025 Multidisciplinary artist Bo Benton unveils her latest collection ‘The Goddess Refracted’, a moving and mythological exploration of the divine feminine through resilience, rebirth, and transformation. This powerful nine-piece exhibition opens Saturday, August 2nd 10:00 AM–4:00 PM at The Barrel Room, as part of “A Canvas of Time”, in partnership with the nonprofit House of Helping Hands.
Each original work—crafted with acrylic, oil, pencil, and gold/silver leaf—draws on sacred feminine archetypes, including “Persephone” and “Oshun”, to frame trauma as alchemical fire. Benton, trained in color therapy and fine art painting at Pasadena City College, uses layered symbolism, myth, and intentional color to evoke emotional healing and spiritual restoration.
“Each canvas becomes a portal,” says Benton, “a moment where pain meets purpose—where the sacred feminine reclaims her narrative in gold, air, and water.”
Born and raised on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago, and deeply influenced by her time in the south of France studying the works of Picasso and Cézanne, Benton fuses classical influence with contemporary emotion. ‘The Goddess Refracted’ invites guests into an intimate space of healing, awareness, and transformation—supporting survivors of domestic violence through art-as-activism.
