The Empty Pockets Announce $285,000 “Billionaire Pricing” for Their New Album

Everyone Else Pays $20. The exact same CD. No autograph, exclusive music or special treatment. Chicago band introduces billionaire-only pricing ahead of Dear Billionaires, out October 23.

Chicago, Illinois Oct 1, 2026 (Issuewire.com)  - The Empty Pockets Announce $285,000 “Billionaire Pricing” for Their New Album. Everyone Else Pays $20.

The exact same CD. No autograph, exclusive music or special treatment. Chicago band introduces billionaire-only pricing ahead of Dear Billionaires, out October 23.

Chicago roots rock band The Empty Pockets have introduced a new pricing option for their forthcoming album, Dear Billionaires: $20 for the standard CD, or $285,000 for the exact same CD if the buyer is a billionaire.

The billionaire price includes one standard CD. There is no autograph, upgraded packaging, private performance, exclusive music or special access.

“Your purchase includes one standard CD. Nothing more,” the band’s website states.

The offer is available at theemptypockets.com/pages/billionaire-pricing. Before proceeding, visitors are asked to swear on the honor system that their personal net worth is at least $1 billion. The band will not request bank statements, tax returns or proof of private aviation. Multimillionaires are directed to the regular price.

“We made a record called Dear Billionaires, so we figured we should give them a way to buy it,” says guitarist and vocalist Josh Solomon. “But the point is that they get the same record as everybody else. Money buys special treatment almost everywhere. Here, it buys one CD.”

The announcement extends the conversation running through Dear Billionaires, a ten-song album arriving October 23, 2026. Songs including “Dearest Billionaires,” “Working Class Blues” and “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” explore wealth, work and power alongside stories about love, uncertainty and finding connection.

For The Empty Pockets, those subjects belong on the same record. Economic inequality is part of everyday life, alongside relationships, community and the effort to build something that lasts.

Recorded over two days at London’s Abbey Road Studio 2, Dear Billionaires captures all four musicians performing together, with no instrumental overdubs. The album was produced by The Empty Pockets and longtime producer and engineer Daniel McCormick. Its live performances combine vintage keyboards, roaring guitars and three-part harmonies.

Dear Billionaires follows the band’s two No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Blues Albums chart, Outside Spectrum and Gotta Find the Moon.

Standard CD, vinyl and bundle preorders are available now through the band’s website. Physical editions will also be available through major retailers and independent record stores. The band will celebrate release week with performances in Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Buffalo, followed by a hometown album release show at Garcia’s in Chicago on October 27.
