“My favorite way to style them is on the vintage leather handbags I’ve been collecting since the 8th grade,” says Timms. “There’s something so fun about walking into a business breakfast with a plush bunny on your bag. My 14-year-old self would be so proud that I’ve stayed true to my style into my 30's and all my friends have too.” The collection was photographed one crisp bright morning in Bushwick at Fermi Playground, using a Coach Station Bag 5130 her grandmother bought on consignment in 1997.
The inspiration for these charms sets came directly from Timms’ customers. Her stockists were the first to ask for the curated sets, and the initial Charm Bar events at Brave Daughters in Boston and Providence proved there was a demand. “Early on, people would tell me they had similar things scattered in drawers at home, but now they’re lining up to buy my charm sets. I think it’s because I focus on making jewelry for your bag—not just the junky keychains you find in a bin.”
