Dallas, Texas May 11, 2026 (Issuewire.com)  - Teresa Jones, MSN, APRN, CPNP-AC, is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Acute Care whose distinguished career in pediatric hematology and oncology has made a lasting impact across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Affiliated with leading pediatric institutions, including UT Southwestern Medical Center and Medical City Children’s Hospital, Teresa is widely recognized for her expertise in caring for children with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions, as well as her compassionate, patient-centered approach to medicine.

With more than 29 years in healthcare—including 13 years as a registered nurse and more than 16 years as a nurse practitioner—Teresa has devoted her career to advancing pediatric specialty care. Her clinical background spans inpatient bone marrow transplantation, outpatient oncology, infusion nursing for immunocompromised patients, and, most recently, hemostasis and thrombosis, where she treats children with complex bleeding and clotting disorders.

When asked what she enjoys most about practicing medicine, Teresa shared, “The patients and their families. Seeing the look on a parent’s face when you are able to make their child feel better is amazing. I also really enjoy being part of new medicine.”

Teresa’s journey into pediatric hematology-oncology is deeply personal. At age 16, she was diagnosed with leukemia, an experience that profoundly shaped her future. Inspired by the nurse practitioner who cared for her during treatment, she pursued a career in advanced practice nursing with the goal of making the same difference in the lives of children and families facing serious illnesses.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University in 1997 before completing her Master of Science as a Nurse Practitioner at the University of Pennsylvania in 2009. Throughout her career, Teresa has remained committed not only to delivering exceptional patient care but also to contributing to the advancement of pediatric hematology-oncology through research, education, and professional presentations.

A respected voice in her field, Teresa has been published multiple times in the Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine and has presented nationally and internationally on topics including von Willebrand disease, hemophilia, bone marrow transplantation, and hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare autoimmune condition treated with chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. One of her notable presentations included an internationally recognized poster presentation in Ireland focused on HLH.

Early in her nurse practitioner career, Teresa set a personal goal of becoming published in her specialty—an aspiration she successfully achieved through her scholarly contributions and ongoing commitment to evidence-based care.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Teresa is highly regarded as an educator and mentor. She has taught nurses and medical residents during hospital rounds, delivered university lectures, and presented at grand rounds and major conferences, including the Scott Storm Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Nursing Seminar. Colleagues and students alike value her unique ability to translate highly complex medical information into understandable, meaningful guidance for audiences ranging from young children and families to experienced healthcare professionals.

As Teresa gradually transitions toward a greater focus on teaching and mentorship, she remains dedicated to maintaining her clinical practice on a PRN basis, ensuring she stays closely connected to patient care while helping shape the next generation of pediatric healthcare providers.

For Teresa Jones, medicine has never simply been a profession—it is a lifelong calling rooted in compassion, resilience, education, and service to others.
