Aretha Henry was born in Jackson Mississippi. She was raised in Camden Mississippi along with her two sisters. The singer-songwriter graduated in 2000 from Velma Jackson High School in Camden MS. She would later attend the University of Southern Mississippi where she would sing hooks for local artists in her free time. After an extended break from her studies, she went back to school and graduated in 2020.
