Silver Screen Pictures & Kids in the Spotlight Script-to-Screen youth film program with She Ready, M.A.R.T.Y. and MISLA

Silver Screen Pictures Inc., has launched a program with social impact programs in Los Angeles by assembling a team of industry giants to help students create projects and get paid.

Los Angeles, California Jun 2, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - Silver Screen Pictures, Inc.,  is stepping up to provide Los Angeles youth with access to professional equipment, space, and industry mentors. “Script to Screen” is an exciting partnership between Silverscreen Pictures, The Legacy Arts Connection, K.I.T.S., She Ready, M.A.R.T.Y., and Made In South LA (MISLA) & MAJ Enterprises to prepare underserved foster youth and young adults, living in Los Angeles County, to learn how to write a script, execute it on set, cast, work with actors, direct scenes and more while completing a short film. The 10-week Script-to-Screen Course pairs students with entertainment industry professionals to learn how to write a script, cast real actors, produce a short film, and audition for a role in that screenplay.

Los Angeles foster youth will gain experience in all aspects of film production: script writing, pre-production through post-production, casting, and acting on-camera work. Kids in the Spotlight (KITS), a foster youth arts education program for youth filmmakers and creatives fourteen to twenty-four years old will join youth empowerment leader, MISLA who will assist in executing this groundbreaking partnership.

Legacy Arts Connection, a 501(3)c,  is designed to provide participants with opportunities to receive industry exposure and learn to obtain funding for projects. As part of this program, 20 Los Angeles youth will be creating short films with industry veterans with the help of seasoned industry veterans. At the end of the program, each student will premiere their film at a KITS Film Awards event on November 8th, 2022.

Students also have opportunities to practice their interviewing skills and participate in networking events with professionals from major film studios, production companies, and talent agencies. Celebrity supporters & sponsors include Tiffany Haddish and a team of She Ready Foundation, and Bernard Dean of MAJ Enterprises. Classes begin June 1st, 2022.
