Los Angeles, California Jun 23, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Emerging indie rock band SENSOR NOISE drops their new single June 27th.
Titled Far From the Heavens, the song was built around a simple arpeggiated riff that guitarist Steve Arm played on an acoustic. Following a debut album they described as cosmic, the band was looking to harness a more earthy sound. They recorded this track while celebrating vocalist Allisyn Snyder’s thirtieth birthday during a weekend getaway at a farmhouse in Tehachapi.
“The trip was a trip,” shares Steve. “We recorded on an enclosed balcony overlooking rolling hills, birds of prey soaring by the windows.”
“Birthdays always bring up mortality,” Allisyn says. “Especially the milestone of thirty. My goal for the weekend was to treat these songs like they’d be the last ones I’d ever write. This song in particular taps into the moments where you’re flooded with emotion, but your words have trouble keeping up.”
The group’s bassist, Dylan Snyder, directed the music video for the new single, which drops with the track on Saturday. “Since we’re always making strange videos, people often give us random props,” Dylan explains, “so we ended up with a wishing well, a boat, and giant flowers. My vision was to make a surreal indoor set similar to the Teletubbies landscape. We were originally looking at astroturf, but it was expensive, so we cut green foam to look like grass and utilized perspective tricks. I’m stoked with the end result, and particularly proud of the little polyester clouds I created.”
SENSOR NOISE will be playing Far From the Heavens on the night of its release at the historic Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. Doors open at seven o’clock, and their set kicks off at eight fifteen.
