Sensational tribute to Vietnam War-era music

Twin Towns set to launch the 2022 season of 'Good Morning Vietnam-Music from the Vietnam War' era

Tweed Heads, New South Wales Jun 23, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - The majestic Showroom will echo with the psychedelic pop, soul, folk music, and stirring rock anthems of the 1960s and 70s when Good Morning Vietnam, Music from the Vietnam War Era - Live in Concert! kicks off its 2022 season at Twin Towns on Friday, July 1.

Good Morning Vietnam – Live in Concert vividly reimagines the treasured and symbolic songs of the 1960s and 70s that spilled across our airwaves during the Vietnam War… songs that questioned, stirred, and reflected the intense political turmoil and massive cultural changes happening during one of the most far-reaching and divisive events of the 20th century.

Good Morning Vietnam – Live in Concert! is an all-new staged concert starring an ensemble of top-class and highly versatile Queensland musicians and vocalists who deliver some of the most iconic pop, folk, soul, and rock songs of the time.

“It's a celebration of beautiful rock music but there is also a sense of melancholy, sadness, and the tragedy that war inflicts on peoples’ lives,” says musical director Simon Gardner. “All great music transcends an era as much as defines it and the rock music created during the Vietnam War period was ground-breaking in that it reflected the immense unrest as well as the greatest powers of all – peace and love.”

The high-energy show is confirmed to return this year to several regional and far north Queensland venues where it has already wowed audiences with fabulous renditions of songs made famous by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Buffalo Springfield, Steppenwolf, The Beatles, Nancy Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, The Doors, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, The Rolling Stones and many more.

“I’m first and foremost a guitarist and I absolutely love playing these songs,” he says. “But I also see this as an opportunity to pay tribute, in the best way I can, to those who fought and died for us. It is an honour to be able to do this.”
