Set in 1994 in New York City, “Call Numbers” is a workplace drama surrounding a divided staff in a library as Robin, a new hire attempts to fit in without taking sides. The story tackles a plethora of social issues including the struggle of traditionalism vs. favoritism, teen pregnancy, bullying, and racism. The multi-ensemble, multi-storyline story shows the creativity and ingenuity of the writer as he offers an amazing mix of drama, romance, and intrigue.

Syntell Smith crafts a modern-day classic about the trials and tribulations of adulthood through realistic dialogue and situations. The writer tells the story of Robin after being transferred downtown to the 58th Street Branch Library and his struggles to deal with his new colleagues and the issues surrounding his much-anticipated yet elusive personal and professional success.
