Eventually, Schneider Injury Law discovered the payment was made through a Bank of America debit card via Apple Pay. Surprisingly, even to Schneider Injury Law, the Apple Pay account number, expiration date and security code are all different from the same account’s debit card. The only way to find that information to match up with the store’s transaction history was to go through multiple levels at BOA to finally have them send the card details to the cardholder, the surviving passenger, who had lent his card to the driver to use to purchase the alcohol. This evidence directly refuted the store’s employee’s testimony that it was impossible for the minor to have purchased liquor from the store. Confronted with this evidence, the liquor store did the right and responsible thing of tendering its insurance policy limits of $1 million.
