East Sussex, United Kingdom Oct 13, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Brighton-based interior design and home staging studio, Savill Royals, has won the Best Holiday Let Home Staging category in this year’s prestigious Home Staging Awards, organized by the Home Staging Association UK and Ireland. Its entry was for a newcomer to the lettings market – a house in Donkey Mews, Brighton, whose renovation was managed by Savill Royals over an eight-month period, from start to finish.
Donkey Mews, formerly a donkey stable, launched as a stylish, three-bedroom, two-bathroom holiday let this year. Designed to cater for up to 10 guests, the living area has a kidney-shaped chaise longue and a mid-century-inspired rotating chair. The 5.8 metre, custom made sofa that opens out into two king size sofa beds, and the art installation with LED lighting, bring the ‘wow factor’ to this unusual space. There's also a custom-made 3 metre oak and bronze dining table with interconnecting bench seating.
The design combines some original features, such as the flint wall in the master bedroom, with some contemporary touches to appeal to guests wanting a hint of luxury. A bespoke, custom built hot tub in the central glass atrium, complete with outdoor rainfall shower and 20m tall foliage wall with mood-enhancing lighting create a “spa in the city”.
Following this extensive refurbishment, the property’s value increased by 36% and nightly rates for holiday lets and Airbnb achieved an average of £1,000.
This year’s HSA Home Staging Awards literature referred to Donkey Mews as a property “with minimalistic tones throughout and with green natural accents, the home becomes a sanctuary perfect for an escape”.
