Saudi hosts meeting on urban landscape transformation in the region

Dubai, United Arab Emirates Dec 12, 2018 (Issuewire.com)  - The Future Landscape and Playspaces KSA officially kicked off on 10 December 2018 in Riyadh where representatives from the local and international countries gathered to discuss Saudi Arabia’s urban landscape transformation, designing innovative playgrounds experience, and redefining public realm connectivity and functionality. The event saw an impressive delegation including General Entertainment Authority Saudi Arabia, Saudi Consulting Services Co., Riyadh Municipality, Saudi Bin Ladin Group, Meinhardt Arabia, Dar Al Handasah, Abdulrahman Almubarak Consultant, Al Khaleejiyah Entertainment Co., and many more.

The event started with an opening remark from the chairman, Eyad M. Fadul, Advisor, Vision Realization Office (VRO) of Ministry of Hajj and Umra in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, followed by a back-to-back keynote presentation from local and international leaders.

Dr Abdulgadir Amir, Deputy Minister for Technical Affairs, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, addressed the urban structure and co-presence of people, followed by Fawaz Alharbi, Senior Head of Master Planning, Jeddah Economic Company, who discussed happiness as a drive for creating a sense of community.

Samer Kahil, Chief Executive Officer of Kidz Holding S.A.L, the company that owns the KidzMondo brand, elaborated on the highlights of this gathering and said: “It is a great opportunity to be part of this successful event, great insights on the industry discussing the entertainment evolution in the Kingdom along with the optimization of the customer experience, engagement of the family”. The sessions was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Eyad M. Fadul, Advisor, Vision Realization Office (VRO), Ministry of Hajj and Umra, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on how to transform Saudi Arabia’s urbanism and livability through sustainable public realms and family friendly playspaces, with panelists including Dr Abdulgadir Amir, Deputy Minister for Technical Affairs, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs; Fawaz Alharbi, Head of Master Planning & Project Development, Jeddah Economic Company; Muhammad Majid Khan, Garden Engineer (Jeddah Municipality), WSP Middle East Middle East; and Mauricio Diaz, Principal Master Planner and Architect, Atkins.

The event continued after the morning break with Rob Lockhart, Chief Compliance Officer, Dynamo Playgrounds, who shared expertise on creating a better playground experience for children. Hrvoje Cindric, Associate & Middle East Urbanism Leader from ARUP explained how to create a healthier and more inclusive, resilient and competitive city for everyone to live, work and grow up in.

The day’s proceedings included presentations from Eng. Khalid Mecca, Technical Support Manager from Alyaf Geocomposites; and Don Sharp, Director of Landscape Architecture at Parsons.

The event concluded with an exclusive panel discussion on redefining the indoor experience and entertainment that promotes an exciting family-oriented ambience with the industry experts from Kidz Holding, Al Othaim Leisure & Tourism Co., ARUP and Dynamo Playgrounds.
