Ahmedabad, Gujarat Aug 6, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Ahmedabad based NGO working for needy people promoted their cause of girl child education earlier last week. The NGO has been involved in numerous causes aimed at bringing about a positive change in society. Speaking on the need of girl education, Team Manav Kartavya said, “At Manav Kartavya, we believe that education is the birthright of every child, no matter which background or community he or she comes from. It is even more important for all of us to understand that the need for girl education carries equal importance. As a committed NGO for girl child education in Ahmedabad, we wish to spread the awareness about this cause.”
The NGO also presented some shocking statistics highlighting the number of children deprived of education. According to Manav Kartavya,” Of every hundred children who enrol for education, 70 drops out by the time they reach secondary level. Out of every hundred children who drop out of schools because of various reasons, 66 are girls. Not many might be aware but only less than half of India’s child populace between the age group of 6 to 14 go to school which leaves us with a concern that is alarming.”
According to Manav Kartavya management team, lack of improvement in the quality of education in India is mostly because of too much debate and less action. The management said that the proportion of children in standard 5th who can read a standard 2nd text has declined by a humungous 15 per cent since 2005 which speaks volumes about the quality of education available in institutions right now.
Speaking about their priority areas, this NGO working for needy people said, “We are focusing on improving access to education as well as the quality. We want to promote access to education to the most underprivileged and vulnerable children in India. Working on the betterment of the educational environment, professional development of teachers and transforming teaching methodologies is need of the hour”.
Manav Kartavya sought support from all and sundry to join them in their cause of helping the needy people so that basic facilities such as mid-day meals, the arrangement of medical check-ups, availability of teaching & learning materials, exposure visits and training for teachers can be provided. The NGO has so far got support from hundreds of organizations and thousands of people.
