Austin, Texas Jul 9, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Shanalee Sharboneau, the author of several books for children, is a gold medal winner in the 2018 Eighth Annual Literary Classics Book Award competition for her book, “My Daddy Loves Me and My Mommy Loves Me,” illustrated by Israel Dilean and published by Mascot Books.
Sharboneau’s book was selected from submissions by entrants around the world. The tradition continues with the arrival of one of the most anticipated moments in the world of children’s and young adult literature. Selected from submissions by entrants around the globe, these distinguished honorees are recognized for their contributions to the craft of writing, illustrating, and publishing exceptional literature for a youth audience. In this highly competitive industry, these books represent the foremost in literature in their respective categories.
The competition this year was tremendous, and we congratulate Shanalee Sharboneau, Author of My Daddy Loves Me and My Mommy Loves Me, illustrated by Israel Dilean and published by Mascot Books, for their outstanding and inspiring work.
Sharboneau’s inspirational books draw upon her real-life family’s experience with her infant son’s illness that kept him in the hospital for the first six months of his life. After trying without success to help calm her son with traditional nursery rhymes, she then began to create her own original melodies, humming them to him.
The songs helped soothe the boy, and she soon added words to her melodies. Later, they became her first book, “My Mama Loves Me,” where she told him all the fun they would have.
Other books followed: My Mama Loves Me: I’m Her Little Boy; My Mama Loves Me: I’m Her Little Girl; My Daddy Loves Me: I’m His Little Girl; and My Daddy Loves Me: I’m His Little Boy. All Ms Sharboneau’s books are available at all distribution outlets.
Sharboneau has received many accolades for her work, including finalist in Literary Classics for Picture Book Series from the International Book Awards and Reviews; Medal Finalist in the 2016 International Book Award for Best Children's Picture Book— Hardcover Fiction; Medal Reader’s Favorite Five Stars, twice; and winner of the Royal Dragonfly Book Award for Best Children’s Picture Books Age 5 and Under.
Her books have been recognized by the President of Ireland, Michael Higgins, financial guru Dave Ramsey and former First Lady Laura Bush.
Ms Sharboneau received her award at a writers’ conference, awards ceremony, formal gala, and authors’ book signing held in conjunction with the Great American Book Festival, May 10, 11 & 12, 2019 in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota.
