Wilmington, Delaware Aug 16, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Mega host and vibrant radio personality “OT” of “The OT Show” has made a dent in the summer with the perfect back-to-school treat!
The “Etherine Tansimore” Scholarship has made its debut at a whopping $500!
One lucky winner will receive the funds to put towards their books and other school expenses. The deadline of the application isn’t until December 15, 2022 so there is plenty of time to shoot your shot! A recipient of OT’s choosing will be announced on January 15, 2023.
Participants are required to be a high school senior, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, low income, and must be looking to enter the medical field. A formal application is encouraged on the website where you may submit a background on yourself and why you have chosen to enter the world of medicine. The world needs heroes and OT is making sure they get them!
You may know OT and his penchant for helping the community if you are a Philadelphia resident. He was raised there in a home filled with music that ranged from reggae to smooth R&B. The sounds of Earth Wind & Fire, Bob Marley, and Last Poets all took over the walls of his childhood home.
OT was brought up with a sense of community that many learn later in life. His father, mother, and grandmother all reminded him to always be kind and practice what he preaches. He has leaned on his faith for support throughout the years and to this day, it has not faltered.
Initially, OT was driven towards a career in computer science, earning a degree in the subject, but found a love in music as he did when he was a child. He used that knowledge to create the show that we all know and love today “The OT Radio Show”. OT channeled his giving spirit and used the platform to provide elevation to others who were also entertainers or owners of small businesses.
His top interview was one with author and radio host, Michael Baisden as they established a bond after the show to discuss the business and personal ends of hosting. As the pandemic has affected us all, it has affected OT but he is using the spread of digital technology to his benefit. He has not only networked but has also had an increase of guests on his show!
On Aug 13th he partnered with the Borough of East Lansdowne and East Athletic Association, and sponsored their “ 1st Community Book Bag Drive. “This was an amazing experience and I am looking forward to participating next year,” says OT.
