State College, Pennsylvania Aug 29, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - PROHASHING, LLC has officially released Octopus, one of two algorithms being added to its arsenal in anticipation of the upcoming Ethereum merge from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake mining. Having recently added the GhostRider algorithm in an effort to increase the number of options for CPU miners, PROHASHING has turned its attention to its GPU mining customers.
“Ethereum is moving to Proof of Stake, and with the Ethash algorithm no longer being an option, we want to offer some additional GPU coins to our Proof of Work miners,” stated Steven Godshall, Director of Financial Engineering, “Conflux blocks are found more frequently than with other coins like Ethereum Classic or Ravencoin, so PPLNS and Solo mining could be more viable for smaller miners with this coin.”
Now that Octopus has been released, PROHASHING engineers are taking another step toward increasing the number of available GPU algorithms by working on the implementation of Ergo coin’s Autolykos2 algorithm. PROHASHING miners can expect to see Ergo mining available in mid-September before the Ethereum merge.
