Programmers and business people should work together to win, here is why?

Silicon Valley, California Jan 19, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - A lot of programmers and businesspeople believe in working independently. William Suryawan and Andy Lazuardy, who built CodeAnatomy together, have proved otherwise.

Early 2017, they found a common problem between IT and the business community. Business people have a problem in finding developers, but IT people hardly find the right business people. William and Andy decided to work together to connect IT and business people through the event, coding class, and IT service, then they share what they have learned.

William has experienced in problem-solving and strategic thinking through his long involvement in business development in a startup. However, when a business person goes to a technical discussion, he needs to shift into a detail-oriented mindset. William has learned from Andy, who is in charge as a programmer, in managing multiple web development projects from Europe, Australia, America, and their home country, Indonesia. William has learned basic programming to sharpen his understanding of product development. William has learned from Andy on how to shift his mind from strategic to detail level depends on the people whom he discusses with and toward the goal of the discussion.

Andy has learnt how William build the trust to anyone who worked with him by showing his good work ethic and strong commitment. Working in a startup is full of uncertainty. William can mitigate a lot of issues and modify the process during implementation to achieve the same planned goal. “During our first project in a coding class, William was in charge in operations side, but when it appeared that there was a big problem in sales and marketing, he decided to prioritize sales marketing program without compromising his responsibility in operations. Finally, we could run the coding class profitable with very positive feedback from students and parents”, recalled Andy.

The work collaboration has positively impacted to Andy’s personal development. “As a programmer, I have learned to improve my public speaking skills and my empathy on people”, said Andy. As a programmer, Andy has had a chance to pitch a business proposal and to become the moderator and coding class instructor. William didn’t just delegate these jobs, but he shared his skills to let Andy successfully delivering these jobs.

Andy has improved his empathy to other people. Based on William’s exposure to the different level of people, Andy has learned the multiple perspectives of people’s mind. “A programmer tends to think based on his logic, but when you reach a management level, you need to lead multiple backgrounds of people with a different mindset to reach the same goal together.”, recalled Andy.

The right collaboration has enabled Andy and William to learn from each other and achieve a bigger result. Jack Ma ever said, “No matter how smart you are, if you don’t know how to work people, you will never succeed. “. Andy added, “We can go further when we are together.”.
