San Mateo, California Apr 28, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - Qube Bar & Grill is announcing the grand opening of Prism, a new gay bar hosted by the San Mateo restaurant every Friday evening at 8PM starting on April 27th.
Qube Bar & Grill, unique amongst restaurants because of its dance floor, wanted to serve local residents beyond breakfast, lunch and dinner. “Our dinner service concludes at 8pm and customers in the LGBT community told me Qube is an awesome entertainment space that could help fill a void in the gay community. There apparently is no gay bar south of San Francisco and north of Mountain View.” said Qube Bar & Grill owner Harmail Chatha.
Mr. Chatha met with LGBT organizers on the San Francisco peninsula from Burlingame to Palo Alto and the idea of a gay bar was enthusiastically received. Local LGBT groups hosted their social and dinner events at various establishments but no single venue could offer the convenience of an exclusive use space that remained open late.
Prism debuted with a successful test event in late February, which affirmed the community’s desire for a gay bar. The festive crowd represented the entire LGBT spectrum: young to senior, men, women and transgender.
Chatha believes that bars are not an anachronism in today’s digital world: bars provide a casual, neutral meeting place for dates and a meeting space for communities. People may be introduced to each other online but meet in the physical world. “Prism is a great way to start your weekends by unwinding from the comfort of your own backyard.
