Powerhouse Women in Music Announce a “Hub for Healing” and it’s Inaugural Project for Black Women

Atlanta, Georgia Dec 16, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - At a time when millions are suffering through mental anguish and social distancing around the globe, music industry powerhouse, Karen Marie Mason brings HealingATL, a mental health initiative and online destination poised to inspire, uplift, and promote healing for Black women.

Conceived after Mason was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, HealingATL brings carefully crafted, curated content, and candid conversations for those seeking healing. HealingATL leverages it’s supporters as well as supporters of the featured artists, to amplify the work of non-profit organizations and seeks to stand as a platform for promoting the artists who create this type of music to share it with the world.

The inaugural project from HealingATL, Through The Stages, Vol. I is a compilation of music featuring artists such as Chantae Cann, Mereba, Sunni Patterson, TEN, and more to be revealed in the coming weeks. Proceeds from Through The Stages, Vol. I will benefit Silence The Shame, an Atlanta based and nationally recognized non-profit headed by music industry veteran Shanti Das, that focuses on education and awareness around mental health.

Karen Marie Mason says, “Choosing to partner with Shanti and her organization, Silence The Shame, was an obvious choice for HealingATL. In today’s climate, considering Shanti’s sensitivity and willingness to speak her truth about mental illness, she continues to inspire us all. Our mental health deserves our attention and support during this time of instability.”

Since its inception in 2016, Silence The Shame has found tremendous support within the music community, with artists such as Big K.R.I.T., Big Sean, Common, David Banner, Keri Hilson, Mulatto, and many more. By partnering with organizations such as The Recording Academy’s MusicCares program, Women In Music, and the A3C Music Festival and Conference, Silence The Shame actively brings the mental health conversation to the forefront with panel discussions, fireside chats, and other interactive activities. Shanti Das says, “I have always admired Karen Mason and her marketing genius. I actually wanted to be her when I was in college. Now to partner with her is completely humbling and in perfect timing. The work we do in mental health is crucial right now and music is a key component of healing and therapy”.
