Chennai, Tamil Nadu Sep 6, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Bhumi, India’s largest volunteering NGO partnered with multinational IT firms CGI, Microsoft, and DXC Technologies to launch a state-of-the-art Skilling Centre to skill the marginalized young job seekers in the districts of Tamil Nadu. This centre is hosted by K S Rangaswamy College of Engineering in Tiruchengode, a shining example of educational excellence in the region.
Endorsing this significant milestone in the area of skill development, Dr. M. Jayaprakasan (I.S.D.S), CEO, Naan Mudhalvan Skill Initiative, TNSDC, Govt. of India, will be inaugurating the centre. Pradeep Savarirayan, Vice-President, CGI – Asia Pacific Global Delivery Centers of Excellence & Nirbhay Lumde, Director, ESG, CGI – Asia Pacific Global Delivery Centers of Excellence will be gracing the occasion as our Guests of Honor.
In this partnership, CGI will fund the program to provide training to young job seekers between the age group of 18 and 27 years, while Bhumi will bring its implementation expertise to run the program from inception to successful completion. Microsoft has designed the industry-relevant curriculum and DXC Technology has offered its technical expertise in designing the state-of-the-art digital infrastructure to make this a pioneering program.

Sharing her thoughts on the launch, Ms. Vaishnavi Srinivasan, Executive Director, Bhumi said, “India is on the verge of becoming the world's largest workforce by 2027. The potential is vast, but so are the challenges. In collaboration with CGI, Microsoft & DXC we are equipping the youth with both technical acumen and soft skills, paving the way for competitive careers.”
Bhumi’s goal is to bridge the gap between academic degrees, actual skill sets, and work opportunities. This multi-stakeholder initiative envisions a future where youth from low-income backgrounds not only achieve socio-economic upliftment but become pillars of nation-building.
