In the book, Hedgpeth discusses how the church interprets salvation in different ways. Most, if not all of us, are taught, that if you do what you are told to, you will enter the kingdom of heaven. The soul will be eternally saved.
Hedgpeth had the same belief system for many years. He was raised by a Christian family. He was taught that, as a Christian, “no matter what happens, you’re saved.” It was not until he reached the age of 40 when he started questioning the realities of this assurance and found out that is not what the Bible teaches.
