Portland, Oregon Jun 27, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - Ian Peterman, founder and CEO of Peterman Design Firm, is mentoring one of the finalist teams in this year’s Invent Oregon Clean Tech Challenge, the state’s top collegiate invention competition focused on sustainability and innovation. The finals will take place on June 27 at the University of Portland, where students from across Oregon will compete for up to $30,000 in funding.
Peterman, a 15-year product development veteran, brings a unique blend of industrial design expertise and clean tech strategy to student teams aiming to build market-ready solutions to global environmental challenges.

Invent Oregon, managed by The Lemelson Foundation and OregonBEST, is a statewide program that equips student innovators with mentorship, funding, and exposure to launch new inventions. The 2025 cohort includes teams working on advanced materials, renewable energy systems, and circular economy solutions.
