Minnetonka, Minnesota Dec 11, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - First-time author Margherita Gale Harris musters up the courage to publish her tell-all memoir, My Side of Bed: A Memoir of Deceit, Denial and Discovery. The book opens up with the hardships and stigmas she’s been carrying since childhood, the majority of which have been inflicted by her own mother. Against good fortune, her hardships followed her until adulthood.
The book details Harris’ marriage to Mark, a promising soon-to-be Episcopal priest at that time. She discovered that the man she exchanged vows with was, in reality, someone else. Nothing could prepare her for the day when he confessed his unimaginably long years of infidelity with a shocking number of people during their marriage.
Harris’ story reveals universal truths and institutionalized corruption of morals from church leaders who, instead of trying to help and heal, made her pain and the circumstances even worse. The intentional cover-up of Mark’s actions is a strong indication of the denomination’s deteriorating leadership.
