Pastor Publishes Theological Book on the History of African Americans in the United States

A biblical take on the plight and contributions of Negroes in America

Tucson, Arizona Mar 4, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - “GOD Behind the Scenes - From Niggas to African Americans – Negro History” by Rev. Maurice F. Scott is an enlightening book exploring the rich history of the Negroes or African Americans—as they are now identified—in the US.

Scott relies on the Holy Scripture and historical facts as he navigates how people with African descent were treated in the US. He narrows down his historical narrative by focusing on how the Nigga, Negro, Colored, and Black is now known as the African American. Using a theological perspective, he also uncovers their contributions in the US.

Scott then examines what would have happened if African slavery never happened. How would the Biblical European theologies of the 16th century be written if there were no African slaves? How would the continued European-American Biblical theology of the 18th and the 19th centuries and the present day African American be written if there had never been slavery within the US? These are some of the questions the book tries to answer for a better understanding of the Negroid nation in the U.S.

Rev. Maurice F. Scott will be having a meet-and-greet session at the Tucson Festival of Books to be held at the University of Arizona Campus this coming March 2-3, 2019. Scott will be signing copies of his books at Authors Press’ booth between 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. Festival goers and readers from all ages will get a chance to learn more about the author and discuss his work and inspiration in person.
