Mumbai, Maharashtra Oct 1, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - The third edition of MET (Material Engineering & Technology ) and HTS ( Heat Treat Show) concluded recently at Cidco Exhibition and Conference Centre, Vashi, Navi Mumbai and was a roaring success. This three day event witnessed the creme de la creme from industry , government and academia in participation and provides the ideal platform for extremely futuristic technologies and processes to be taken forward and implemented . This event is the brainchild of ASM( A Society Of Materials ) India chapter .
Nitin Gadkari, Union Cabinet Minister for Road Transport and Shipping, did the honours for this edition. Addressing the gathering Nitin Gadkari stated that he was delighted by the fact that events of this nature would provide an ideal platform for industry, government and academia to come together and work together for the progress of the nation in key areas like infrastructure and defence. He further added that innovation and research in the key and cited multiple examples of projects in countries like Malaysia. Among the other keynote speakers on this occasion was Sajjan Jindal of JSW, Shailendra Roy of L&T, Sunil Kulkarni of Mahindra & Mahindra, Pradeep Goyal, Chairman of MET and Dr Frederick E . The next 2 days had a hectic schedule with 7 sessions covering areas of materials required in all areas of transportation, defence and power and the third session on advances in heat treatment. A number of papers presented were 19 in heat treatment and 27 in MET and there were 7 plenary talks given by Dr.Kamachi Mudali CEO, Heavy water board, Dr Fred Schmidt, President ASM international, Dr.Sudarshan of Matmod USA and past trustee, Mr Agarwal from Railways, Mr.Eshwara Prasad Director, Dmsrde, Dr Satyam Sahay of John Deere and a few others. The event was attended by 250 plus delegates from all over the country and abroad.There were around 4000 plus focussed visitors in 3 days which speaks volumes of the popularity of the event.
