Gandhinagar, Gujarat Apr 13, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Summer is coming, and so is humidity. Electric appliances at homes and workplaces are going to run all the time. In such situations, we need energy-efficient appliances like BLDC ceiling fans.
BLDC stands for Brushless Direct Current. BLDC ceiling fans are produced with the brushless direct current motor that makes them different from ordinary fans. The most considerable difference is the energy power.
BLDC ceiling fan requires approximately 50% less energy than other fans. Hence, these fans hold a huge place in saving energy.
“People are skeptical of BLDC fans, despite the fact that they are energy-efficient. As a result, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency has launched a Star Rating Scheme to demonstrate how energy-efficient buildings are,” stated the spokesperson from OCECO Energy Pvt Ltd.
The star rating scheme covers 28 products, of which 10 are mandatory, and others can voluntarily participate in it. The ceiling fan is not part of the mandatory products, but they will be from July 2022.
“As a BLDC fan is one of the most energy-efficient ceiling fans, the demand for these fans will rise once adoption begins. Everyone will have to replace their standard fan with an energy-saving one,” he added.
Additionally, we have heard a success story of Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for ALL (UJALA) Scheme with adopting LED bulbs. The scheme, which started in 2015, procured the LED bulb in bulk and distributed them to consumers at subsidized rates. UJALA scheme may also support the adoption of BLDC fans, as they are expensive compared to other fans, too.
All the stakeholders put many efforts like this into adopting energy-efficient appliances, including the ceiling fan manufacturer, as 25% of household energy consumption is just into ceiling fans. Hopefully, combined efforts from the star rating scheme and the UJALA scheme will result in the adoption of the BLDC ceiling fans soon.
