In recognition of National Foster Care Month in May, Haven’s Future a registered 501c3 non-profit, has created a “Week of Foster Caring'' event which is designed to recognize, pamper, and bring joy to the Foster Youth in Victor Valley.

Haven’s Future “Week of Foster Caring” event was created to be a yearly event and will eventually take place in multiple locations. In its inaugural week, the charity will offer remarkable events acknowledging up to 350 foster youth from Adelanto Elementary School District, and Victor Valley High School.

This extraordinary week will consist of complementary and memorable events for foster youth enrolled in the participating schools and one (1) foster parent/guardian.

The week will encompass the following events: (events, locations, and times may change)

  • May 19 - Get Air Trampoline Park, 5 pm – 8 pm
  • May 20 - Marvel Movie Night, 5 pm – 9 pm
  • May 21 - Scandia Family Fun Center, 10 am – 12 pm

Haven’s Future 501c3

Was formed to directly tackle the issues dominating Foster Youth and Families adversely affected by the Children & Family Services (CFS) system.  Haven’s Future’s mission is to help families navigate through the intense and stressful CFS process with minimal impact on the family structure.

New Attorney General Data indicates that 3.5 million children are removed from their families every year by Children and Family Services, of these children being removed, 2.7 million are wrongfully removed and out of the 800,000 children who were accurately removed, their chances of experiencing emotional, sexual, or physical abuse are much higher (some even end in death) in foster care then they are with the offending parent.

Haven’s Future’s work encompasses two stages:

At the micro stage, Haven's Future will provide resources for youth and families that support them throughout the challenging process of the Children and Family Services System. Committed to assisting foster children and their families with legal support, and aid with required courses and other classes to enrich their lives as they prepare to fight and reclaim their rights, ensuring that children who are removed from their homes have the basic necessities while in the care of the state or county.

At the macro stage, Haven's Future will build and operate Care Centers with a staff of highly trained Care Advocates who will host families, who are being observed, to avoid the necessity of separating families while Children and Family Services conduct investigations and work through the court process. Families will be monitored by staff 24 hours a day 7 days a week to ensure the safety of the children and to certify the fitness of the caregivers.

The Care Centers will be fully equipped with Two- and Three-bedroom suites to accommodate guests. While there, some of the resources they will receive include:

  • Counseling
  • parenting classes, for adults & teen parents
  • Anger management, & domestic violence classes (for victims and abusers).

In addition, parents and caregivers will be able to attend AA programs, job readiness, and skills training.

Together, with the support of our staff, volunteers, partners, and sponsors, Haven’s Future Week of Foster Caring events are designed to bring joy and comfort to the otherwise forgotten.

Haven’s Future is currently accepting sponsors for the week including individual days. Interested parties can contact COO, Rose Lyles at rose@havensfuture.org or 925-325-3166.
