Recently Nocturnal Abstract (NocturnalAbstract.com) launched their line of sneakers and accessories based on the original artwork of the NYC urban artist “The Nocturnal Abstract”.
Prior to that, the original artwork had been viewed in various art galleries and magazines across the world. Nocturnal Abstract is all about positive vibes! The main concept around the Nocturnal Abstract’s works was that they contained hidden symbolism within them based on these positive vibes. Not many knew what the stories within the works entailed but they received attention and a following especially when the artist was releasing details at a show.
The black and white works are interesting and captivating when viewed at art shows. They look like a group of tiles containing various geometric shapes. Art lovers attend the shows in crowds due to the combination of the interesting designs and depth of the hidden stories within them. It's an "abstract art experience" said Judy Torez of NYC. When the Nocturnal Abstract expanded the concept to sneakers, trendy art followers gravitated toward this new look. NYC DJ J-Nyce said, “the art shows were dope, but wearing the artwork creates a buzz at my events”.
Many of the trendy people that have become customers and family of Nocturnal Abstract are skaters. The Nocturnal Abstract Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/nocturnal_abstract_222/) received hits from skaters across the globe. They were sending videos containing skate tricks rocking the Nocturnal Abstract brand. That’s when it became clear that The Nocturnal Abstract would launch a new line of skateboards and longboards.
In an interview, the artist said “I love the vibe of our customers. They are creative, interesting, trendy people, and some have a huge talent in skating”. The artist also said “Our vibe is broad and different but we definitely have an urban, chill presence that crosses the skater community. We want our sneakers associated with these amazingly talented skaters. We also want to see our designs on their boards because we love what they do!”
