Raleigh, North Carolina Feb 27, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Shield Republic Charities has launched a new “Hold the Line” fundraiser honoring a South Carolina police officer and military veteran gunned down delivering a detention order and eviction notice in Dalzell.
Corporal Andrew Gillette of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office had served with the U.S. Air Force for 12 years before beginning a career in law enforcement in 2013 in Sumter. He was gunned down in the line of duty after the suspect opened fire while being served in late February.
The 37-year-old officer is survived by his wife and 11-year-old son.
Through Shield Republic’s Hold the Line fundraiser for Cpl. Gillette, commemorative t-shirts, hoodies, long-sleeved shirts, ladies’ tank tops and decals will be available for sale, with 100 percent of net proceeds to be donated to the Corporal Andrew Gillette Memorial Fund.
