London, United Kingdom Jan 23, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - Neishaa Gharat Commissioned The Blue Fashion Collection Scarf By The Commonwealth Fashion Council To Mark the Ocean Decade 2020.

Neishaa Gharat’s sea of inspiration was fuelled by the beauty of Ocean life and  SmartFiber’s innovative Silk, harnessing the Power of Seaweed in Fibre. Neishaa Gharat was invited to present the sustainable Blue Fashion Scarf Collection at the International Fisheries Symposium on Fisheries Sustainability: Blue Innovation-emerging technologies and trends in fishery sustainability, organized by The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations Fisheries and Aquaculture Department in Rome, Italy.

The design was inspired by the beautiful life under the ocean that is under threat by the plastic waste thrown into the ocean. In recent times Ocean plastic has generated a lot of attention and action. This scarf collection inspires an important message through fashion.

Creatively illustrated plastic waste in the scarf design ranging from toys to toothbrushes and footballs to fishing nets found in our beautiful Oceans both delight and drive home the message thoughtfully.

We need to act ASAP

The Business of Fashion, the world’s leading daily digest in fashion report that two of the ten themes that will define the fashion agenda will be ‘Sustainability First’ and ‘Materials Revolution’. Sustainability will be the single most important opportunity and challenge for this decade. House Of Gharats has committed to this ASAP. As Sustainable as Possible. As Soon As Possible.

Fashion Meets Wellbeing - Active Ingredients from Sea to Skin

The Blue Fashion Scarf Collection is the first scarf collection that holds a part of the Ocean within it. Neishaa Gharat, Designer and Creative Director of House Of Gharats worked with innovative silk created by SmartFiber AG that uses the power of seaweed in fiber. The silk is created by the Lyocell process, an innovative and eco-friendly production method. The silk is completely biodegradable and carbon neutral.

The sustainably farmed seaweed is pure and rich in essential substances such as vitamins, trace elements, amino acids and minerals. The natural moisture level of the skin enables an active exchange of those beneficial substances between the fiber and the skin. Harvesting of the seaweed is a gentle, selective and, most importantly, sustainable process. It removes only the part of the seaweed that is able to regenerate. The seaweed is entirely untreated and all its ecological value is retained.

Our skin is constantly exposed to harmful environmental influences, the distinct properties of seaweed help to protect our skin from these harmful effects. The substances found in seaweed help to activate cell regeneration, which in turn can help to relieve skin diseases, reduce inflammation and soothe itchiness. Its high level of antioxidants protects the skin against harmful free radicals, which damage our skin cells.

Blue Fashion Scarf collection was presented at FAO of the United Nations

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is promoting Blue Fashion, which uses sustainable marine materials and protects arable land. Neishaa Gharat had the opportunity to interact with participants from all over the world and present collaboration. The event brought together Government, Policy Makers, Scientists, Researchers, Academicians, innovators, businesses working towards the Blue Agenda.  She shared her learning at the Innovation talks  Keen interest and insights were gathered to propell her into the Ocean Decade
