San Diego, California Jan 7, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Nautilus Air today announced plans to conduct test flights operating from San Diego International Airport (SAN) and returning to the same airport within approximately one hour. The test flights will originate and conclude at San Diego International Airport—commonly referred to as SAN and formerly known as Lindbergh Field—located near downtown San Diego and serving as a major aviation hub for Southern California.
The test flights are designed to evaluate aircraft performance, operational efficiency, and flight procedures while flying over the greater San Diego region. These flights represent an important step in Nautilus Air’s broader development and validation efforts.
“San Diego International Airport offers a unique operating environment with proximity to urban, coastal, and controlled airspace,” said Richard H. Davis, President and CEO of Nautilus Air. “We saw a need for flying over San Diego to better understand real-world operating conditions while maintaining a controlled, efficient test profile.”
The planned one-hour round-trip flights will allow Nautilus Air to gather data while minimizing disruption to airport operations and surrounding communities. All flights will be conducted in coordination with relevant aviation authorities and in compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
Nautilus Air emphasized that these flights are strictly for testing and evaluation purposes and do not involve commercial passenger service at this stage.
Additional details regarding flight schedules and operational milestones will be announced as the testing program progresses.
