  • Nature inFocus Brings India and the World Up to Date Wildlife Happenings

Bengaluru, Karnataka Jul 5, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - Nature inFocus is committed to informing the public about India’s myriad of wildlife in all its diversity. July 29 of each year has been designated as International Tiger Day and the online publication is working to bring awareness of the felines’ precarious position. Once known as the Royal Bengal Tiger, the big cat is an internationally recognized symbol of strength, bravery, and power. The tigers have known the world over for their grace and beauty. They’ve also endangered species despite successful preservation programs that have brought them from the brink of extinction. Loss of habitat, hunting, and poaching for pelts and body parts has led to their decimation.

The cats live solitary lives and can live up to 25 years in the wild – without predation by humans. Each tiger has its own territory of approximately 10 miles. While territories may overlap, boundaries are dependent upon the gender of the tiger and the available food supply. India is home to approximately half of the entire Bengal tiger population and it’s the national animal of India and Bangladesh.

The Satpura National Park in Madhya Pradesh is known as the tiger state. It attracts visitors from around the world that hope to catch a glimpse of the majestic cats. The Park has recorded 526 tigers. Sightings of leopards are more common, along with 52 species of mammals, 300 bird species, 130 butterfly species, 20 different reptile species, and 92 tree species.

While visitors to Dubare Forest won’t see Bengal tigers, it's located near Nagarahole National Park that’s part of Project Tiger and Project Elephant. Dubare Forest has attractions that can be experienced by jeep safari or by walks within Forest’s boundaries. Guests will find coffee plantations and waterfalls, places of worship, and a wealth of butterfly and animal species. A variety of activities are offered and accommodations are available to fit any need.

Nature inFocus is a treasure trove of information about India’s many wildlife species and the best ways to experience them in all their glory. The publication is paying homage to Bengal tigers for the upcoming International Tiger Day and is also accepting entries for its Nature InFocus Photography and Film Awards 2022. The deadline is July 31, 2022.
