Nationwide Zoom Call To Mobilize Black Rural Americans for Harris

Newark, New Jersey Aug 31, 2024 (Issuewire.com)  - About Be Ready, U.S.A. - To engage and empower Black rural Americans in the voting process, a national Zoom call titled "Black Rural Americans for Harris" will take place on September 5th at 6 PM. The call aims to highlight the importance of rural Black voters and address the disparities they face in our society.

Hosted by Shennell Barnes, CEO of Be Ready, Dr. Brittany Kirkland, Chief Program Officer of Be Ready, and Sabrina Newby, Law Advocacy and Policy Strategist of Georgia. The Zoom call will feature top leaders, surrogates, and allies speaking on the significance of the rural Black American voting block. Confirmed speakers include Georgia State Rep. Derrick Jackson, former Georgia State Rep., Attorney William Boddie, Elijah Henderson, Co-founder of A Better Glynn, Dr. Bambie Hayes-Brown, Alliance 85, Dexter Newby, Hinesville, Ga. Councilman, Mayor Sarah Hayes, Walthourville, Ga., The Burgess Brothers, Burgess Brothers BBQ California, Michael Harris, Deridder Louisiana, Ga. State Rep. Mandisha Thomas, Marcus Thompson, Bryan County, Ga., Keith McCants, Bryan County, Ga., Angel Ratcliff, Ga. Farmer and others will share their insights and perspectives on the issues affecting our nation's Black rural communities.

I know that involving rural Black Americans in the voting process is crucial to building a more inclusive and equitable society," said Sabrina Newby of the organizing committee. "This Zoom call will serve as a platform for us to come together, share our experiences, and work towards creating positive change and solutions in our communities."

The call is intended to create a safe space for authentic dialogue and solutions, which is why no media outlets have been invited to participate. The organizers seek to provide a platform for rural Black Americans to voice their concerns and discuss ways to address them within their communities.
